My name is Michael von Adhem.
Just before I turned 1 year old my owner found the cause of me acting strange and having fits almost every day: I was born with luxating patellas, a genetic defect that caused my knees to dislocate and be very painful all the time. I just couldn't help myself.
I was a mess, but thanks to the knowledge and skills of Orthopedic Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Wright my knees were repaired so that I could start working my way back to moving about painfree.

Look how handsome I am, but the way I'm sitting with my hind legs bent out to the sides indicates something is not right.
Check out that stitching! Dr. Wright did a good job.
My life as a caged animal started on March 22, 2008 when I came home from my first surgery. It was necessary so that I wouldn't get carried away and injure my knees again. I accepted it and didn't complain, but 6 months is a long haul.
This photo was taken just a couple of days after my first knee surgery. It looks good and clean, but I'm not a happy camper.
